The Austin Family Chiropractic Website has been created so that we may serve you better. We would like to inform you about
Chiropractic and how it can help you lead a healthier life. Here you can learn about what to expect during your care in our
office. You can also meet Dr. Austin and Eugena, who is our chiropractic assistant and our Licensed Massage Therapist.
Our aim is to provide you with sufficient information in order to make you comfortable about choosing us to be a part of your
health care team.
It is our hope that the AFC Website will give you a better understanding about chiropractic. Dr. Austin accepts most insurances
and is a provider for both Blue Cross (local and federal plans) and Medicare. The directions page will give you specific directions

Doctor of Chiropractic
- Dr. Austin is a 1993 graduate of Logan College of Chiropractic in Chesterfield, Missouri.
- Dr. Austin is also certified in Acupuncture.
- Dr. Austin was honored in January 2001, with the
G.T.O. CHIROPRACTOR OF THE YEAR Award for
the year 2000 from the Parker Chiropractic Seminars. Dr. Austin attends several seminars each year in order to stay up to date
with the latest research on various facets of chiropractic, acupuncture, auriculotherapy, cold laser therapy, nutrition and other
health-related topics.
Since graduation, Dr. Austin has taken post-graduate courses focusing on: chiropractic biophysics, nutrition, chiropractic
orthopedics, chiropractic pediatrics, advanced acupuncture, personal injury, botanical (herbal) medicine, sports injuries,
extremity adjusting, impairment ratings, cold laser therapy and auriculotherapy.
Dr. Austin keeps very active. He enjoys weight lifting,swimming, snorkeling, SCUBA diving, walking, gardening and landscaping,
exploring caves, ice skating, (watching) Tampa Bay Buccaneers football, and (watching) hockey. Dr. Austin also enjoys learning
and speaking to groups about bats (yes, the world's only flying mammals), as well as spending time with his wife
Eugena, 6 year old daughterAva, 3 year old daughter Zorah and 1 year old
daughter Aegea.
Dr. Austin is also very active in the Virden community.
- Dr. Austin is a current member and a past-president of the Virden Area Association of Commerce,
where he served for a total of three years as an officer in the "Chamber".
- Dr. Austin has been a member of Toastmasters International since 1994. He was instrumental in starting the
Tri-County Toastmasters Club which meets twice each month in Virden. Dr. Austin
also served as the Area 1 Governor of District 8 Toastmasters in 1998, and was the first president of the
Tri-County Toastmasters Club. Dr. Austin currently serves as the club's Public Relations Officer, as he has done so for
the past 8 years.
- Dr. Austin and his wife, Eugena, are former Master Gardeners who were trained by the University of Illinois
Cooperative Extension Service. They have volunteered their time to help with various Extension projects
throughout Macoupin County.
Dr. Austin enjoys talking to people about chiropractic, acupuncture, auriculotherapy, cold laser therapy and
